Edward Spagnuolo, PhD Student
About
My interest in paleontology started at a young age and only strengthened with visits to nearby natural history museums, such as the American Museum of Natural History in New York. Paleontology is the closest thing we have to time traveling in real life, and like in movies, the past is tied to our present and future.

As an undergraduate student at PSU, I quickly joined Dr. Peter Wilf's paleobotany lab as a first-year, and my projects have only increased in size and number in graduate school. When not in the lab, I am passionate about undergraduate mentoring and advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in STEM.

Outside graduate school, I love cooking, traveling, and reading. You can find me taking care of my ~30 houseplants and pet shrimp, Cornelius, or working on my ever-growing comic book collection!
Me at the USDA National Seed Herbarium, Washington DC.
